Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

1. Introduction & Scope

Infinidatum LLC operates Proving Ground ("we," "our," or "us"), a study aid built for individual consumers preparing for professional examinations. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our website and related services (the "Service"). Infinidatum LLC is the sole controller of the personal information collected through the Service; we determine why and how that information is processed and are your point of contact for any privacy request.

2. Information We Collect

(a) Account information

  • • Email address, and your name if you choose to provide it
  • • A securely hashed password, if you sign up with email and password
  • • If you sign in with Google, the profile fields Google returns to us (such as your name and email address)

(b) Practice content

  • • Your multiple-choice selections
  • • Your free-text issue-spotter answers
  • • Your oral or transcribed Socratic dialog turns
  • • Scores, weak-area tags, and other performance analytics we derive from your attempts

Your free-text and oral answers may contain whatever you type or say. Please avoid including personal data — yours or anyone else's — in your answers, since we cannot control what you choose to write into a practice response.

(c) Payment information

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your card numbers. We store only your Stripe customer ID, the checkout session and transaction IDs for your purchases, and your purchase history (which credit pack, the amount, and the date).

(d) Usage and technical data

  • • Attempt timestamps
  • • IP address, browser, and device metadata
  • • Access logs
  • • Rate-limit counters used to prevent abuse of the grading service

3. How We Use It

We use the information above to:

  • • Deliver practice attempts and grade your responses
  • • Create and maintain your account and login session
  • • Process your one-time credit-pack purchases
  • • Prevent abuse — including screening disposable-email sign-ups and applying rate limits to the grading service
  • • Improve the quality of our questions through our editorial review process

4. AI Processing Disclosure

Proving Ground uses third-party AI providers to generate questions and to grade your answers. We are precise about which provider does what:

  • Question generation is processed by Anthropic (Claude), with OpenAI (GPT) used only as an automatic backup if Anthropic is unavailable.
  • Grading of your answers is processed by Anthropic only. There is no OpenAI fallback in the grading path; if the Anthropic grader is unavailable, an attempt returns ungraded rather than being routed to another provider.

These providers process your content as our service providers under their commercial API terms. We do not use your answers to train our own models, and we use provider API tiers whose terms state customer content is not used to train their models.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers we need to run the Service:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Anthropic and OpenAI — question generation and grading (see §4)
  • Resend — transactional email (e.g., verification and receipt messages)
  • Vercel and Neon — application hosting and database

We may also disclose information where required to comply with the law or a valid legal request.

6. Retention

We retain your account and attempt-history data while your account is active, so you can review your past results. When you make a verified deletion request, we delete your account and associated practice data within 30 days. Payment records are retained for as long as tax law requires, regardless of account deletion.

7. Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. To exercise any right, contact us at admin@infinidatum.com.

California residents (CCPA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to request correction. Because we do not sell personal data, there is no "Do Not Sell" mechanism to operate. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

EU and UK visitors (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing are the performance of our contract with you (delivering the Service) and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. International Transfers

The Service is operated from, and your data is processed in, the United States. Where our processors handle data originating in the EU or UK, that transfer is carried out under the standard contractual clauses those processors maintain.

9. Children's Privacy

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, use this service only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or instructor.

We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to use the Service (the COPPA floor). If we discover that an account belongs to a user under 13, we delete it and its associated data. Users aged 13 to 17 should use the Service with a parent, guardian, or instructor involved.

10. Cookies

We use only essential session and authentication cookies — principally socratic-practice.session-token, which keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Because strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, we do not show a cookie-consent banner. If you disable essential cookies, you will not be able to log in.

11. Changes & Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut; our Terms of Use are the canonical home for governing-law and dispute terms. For any privacy question or request, contact us at admin@infinidatum.com.

DISCLAIMER: This is an operator draft for legal review and is not final legal advice. Before marketing Proving Ground publicly, this policy must be reviewed and approved by qualified legal counsel licensed in the relevant jurisdiction. Particular attention should be paid to the data processing terms in effect with Anthropic, OpenAI, Stripe, and Resend for this specific deployment.
